MESSAGE FROM THE PSQI PRESIDENT

Greetings from the PHILIPPINE SOCIETY FOR QUALITY, INC. (PSQI)!

Forty years ago, in May 1969, this association started its Quality Advocacy, first with the idea of control, as in Quality Control of products and services. This has evolved into Management of Quality as a way of life to attain Performance Excellence in Business, Education, Healthcare, and other institutions.

We are once again inviting everyone, as quality advocates, professionals, and interested parties to take time and attend the yearly National Quality Forum (NQF) to be held on September 17 to 18, 2009 at the ballroom of Hotel Intercontinental Manila, at Makati City. We also invite everyone to attend pre-conference tutorials on September 16, for specific learnings.

Our Conference theme for the 21st NQF is L.I.N.K.S. - Linking Innovations, Networks, Knowledge, Solutions: Responding to the Challenges of Today.

Let us learn from well-chosen resource speakers from here and abroad, so we can appreciate how said LINKS are enabling organizations to cope with challenges, and how we can be LINKS ourselves, spread the Good News, and keep hope alive for our own organizations, and our country.

MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS AT TAYONG LAHAT!

GREETINGS!

I am taking this opportunity to invite you, our members, to be active in PSQI committee work. We can do much together to assure another fruitful year for quality advocacy. There is nothing like hands-on experience doing advocacy work. It makes our lives worthwhile.

There are many challenges that need to be confronted to heighten consciousness on how quality standards impact all aspects of life.
Among these are:

------- Getting more people to use the tools for quality improvement for products, services, educational and healthcare areas.

------- Bringing the learnings to our works areas, or to our homes, so that more people understand what quality is all about, applying it to environmental, safety and human resource issues.

------- Introducing innovative ways to achieve implementation of quality principles everywhere.

------- Increasing membership, inviting individual candidates for executive awards, inviting participant companies to the Philippine Quality Award, etc.

------- Being there to find ways where we can help, specifically, standing up and being counted as an advocate, becoming quality thought leaders for the good of all, paying forward for good results that will benefit our children's future in this beautiful land that is ours.

Let's all rise to these challenges. Quality is its own reward.
